Leisure and associations

Even in the past, leisure time was important. After work the workers would go off to one of the many dance halls and cafes for their daily tipple. They sang in a choir or played drama. Some people kept pigeons or finches. Using photographs, objects and sound fragments, we outline an overview of the leisure activities in earlier years in the factory hall.

In these times, every political movement had its own associations and its own points of contention. Militants marched in the streets and the propaganda agencies were constantly busy. You can’t tell a story about working people without touching on these issues.
